Les Palmiers

Although it is not directly on the beach, Villa Les Palmiers (PLM) is in many ways the quintessential beach house. Relaxed, modern, and organic in style, the luxury rental property evokes that same serenity, effortlessness, and warmth of a day by the seashore. The materials are natural, textured, and sumptuous, such as the ipe wood decks outside, the luxuriously soft linens on the beds, and even the beautifully marbled wood of the cutting boards in the kitchen. There may not be sand underfoot, but there is a nice swimming pool and a private outdoor shower, island breezes waft through, and you can see stunning ocean views and hear the waves crashing from every room.

Staying in Villa Les Palmiers evokes a carefree spirit, but the vacation home’s owners took utmost care in creating it, paying special attention to beautiful art and found natural objects. The color palette is soothingly neutral, and clutter is absent. The decoration runs toward the lines of straw hats and beach bags hanging on a wall, and small plants provide pops of green on the shelves. Nothing feels unnecessary.

A hammock demarcates the subtle boundary between indoor and outdoor space, and becomes a focal point of the living area. The kitchen is pretty and functional, and has been outfitted with a pass-through counter with barstools, a farmhouse dining table, and a Lacanche range that’s perfect for cooking fresh fish from the local market. Outside, you can lounge on classic sling chairs on swing in an egg-shaped hanging chair. It looks like a cocoon, which is apt because Villa Les Palmiers as a whole feels like a family cocoon, a wonderfully secluded and private refuge from the outside world.
